Intervals (on-condition or hard time) and related man-hour times are based on normal operation. The man-hour
time specified is the time you need to do all services prescribed for a particular interval. Decrease the intervals
if your lubricants are contaminated, or if you are operating equipment under adverse conditions, including
longer-than-usual operating hours. The intervals may be extended during periods of low activity. If extended,
adequate preservation precautions must be taken.
Dotted leader lines indicate lubrication is required on both sides of the equipment.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent, P-D-680, is toxic and flammable. Always wear protective goggles and gloves. and
use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes, and DO NOT breathe
vapors. DO NOT use near open flame or excessive heat. The solvent's flash point is 1 00 -1 38

(38 -59 ). If you become dizzy while using cleaning solvent, immediately get fresh air and medical

help. If solvent contacts eyes, immediately wash your eyes and get medical aid.
Clean all fittings and area around lubrication points with dry cleaning solvent (Item 16, Appendix E) or
equivalent before lubricating equipment. After lubrication, wipe off excess oil or grease to prevent accumulation
of foreign matter.
The lowest level of maintenance authorized to lubricate a point is in indicated in parentheses by use of the
following: (C) Operator/Crew; (O) Organizational Maintenance or (F) Direct Support Maintenance
