The axle weighs approximately 850 pounds (386 kg) with tires and wheels installed.
Extreme caution must be used during removal and installation of axle or serious
injury to personnel may result.
Removing/installing axles should normally be done with wheels and tires installed
for ease of handling. If axle is being removed to perform other maintenance tasks
on the axle, it will be necessary to remove wheels and tires after the axle assembly
has been separated from the bogie.
Release semitrailer parking brakes by pushing in brake release valve (para. 2-8).
