LOSS IN AIR PRESSURE - Continued
c.
Use a lower gear range on towing vehicle.
d.
Notify Field Level Maintenance as soon as possible.
3.
If spring brakes have engaged, due to air pressure falling below 60 psi (414 kPa), follow spring
brake caging procedures (WP 0047 00, Spring Brake Caging).
While Uncoupled from Towing Vehicle
Since the Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) non-functional in the FMTVT, there is no means to
determine a loss of trailer air system pressure while uncoupled from the towing vehicle. A loss can only
be determined while the trailer is coupled to a towing vehicle.
NUCLEAR, BIOLOGICAL, AND CHEMICAL (NBC) DECONTAMINATION
Refer to TB 700-4 for nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) defense procedures. Refer to FM 3-5 for
chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) decontamination procedures.
