OZONE DEPLETING SUBSTANCES (ODS)
The continued use of ODS has been prohibited by Executive Order 12856 of
3 August 1993. The use of ODS in Army equipment is prohibited.
Proper disposal of hazardous waste material is vital to protecting the environment
and providing a safe work environment. Materials such as batteries, oils, and
antifreeze must be disposed of in a safe and efficient manner.
Hazardous materials used in the operation and maintenance of the BEB are listed in
the Hazardous materials List table below. Normal operation, storage, transportation
and maintenance of the BEB does not use or generate toxins other than those
identified in this table. These compounds are common to the operation and
maintenance of all diesel engine powered equipment. Radioactive materials are not
used or generated during the fabrication, storage, or transport of the BEB.
