Media Filter Gauges and
These gauges indicate pressure in the media filter, and the valves
Valves
control the flow of water in and out of the media filter for maintenance
and operational purposes. Refer to figure 5.
17
RO-V-10 Media Filter
This valve permits the operator to purge the filtered contents of the
Backflush Discharge Valve
media filter overboard if it becomes clogged. Refer to figure 6.
18
RO-V-11 Media Filter Drain
This valve is opened to drain the media filter during maintenance.
Valve
19
RO-V-2 Media Filter Supply
This valve controls the flow of raw water into the media filter. Refer to
Valve
figure 6.
20
RO-V-3 Media Filter
This valve controls the flow of filtered raw water out of the media
Discharge Valve
filter. This valve is OPEN during normal ROWPU operation. Refer to
figure 6.
21
RO-V-4 Media Filter
This valve permits the operator to bypass the media filter during
Bypass Valve
ROWPU operation and maintenance. Refer to figure 6.
22
440V Power Panel No. 5
This panel provides 440 Vac to the ROWPU system controllers. Refer
to figure 7.
23
RO-V-1-1 ROWPU 1 Inlet
This valve controls the flow of raw water from the media filter into the
Sea Water Supply Valve
20-micron filter basket for ROWPU 1. Refer to figure 2.
24
RO-V-5 ROWPU
This valve permits the operator to pump cleaning solution and chemi-
Cleaning Supply Valve
cals through the ROWPU during maintenance cycles. Refer to
figure 2.
25
RO-V-2-1 ROWPU 2 Inlet
This valve controls the flow of raw water from the media filter into the
Sea Water Supply Valve
20-micron filter basket for ROWPU 2. Refer to figure 2.
26
RO-PG-1 ROWPU General
This gauge indicates raw water pressure into the ROWPU system.
Service Pressure Gauge
27
RO-V-1 Main Sea Water
This valve controls the flow of raw water into the ROWPU system.
Supply Valve

ROWPU 1 System Controller
The controller monitors the salt content of the product water by means
of the salinity probe, and signals the 3-way diverter valve when po-
table water is being produced. The 3-way diverter valve and pump
motors are all directly connected to, and governed by, the system
controller. Refer to figure 4.
