b. REPAIR
1.
Reface braking surface (3) using a brakedrum lathe. Remove a maximum of 0.01 in. (0.25 mm) per cut.
2.
If finishing requires removal of more than 1/16 in. (15.86 mm) of material 1/8 in. (31.75 mm) in diameter], replace
brakedrum (1).
Replace brakedrum (1) if inside diameter exceeds 16.505 in. (41.92 cm) after refacing.
3.
FOLLOW-ON TASKS:
Install hub and brakedrum (para 4-69),
TIRE REPAIR.
