LEAF SPRING (LMTVT) REPLACEMENT - Continued

REMOVAL
NOTE
Left and right side leaf springs are removed the same way. Right side leaf spring shown.
1. Place two trestles under frame rail (1).
2. Place floor jack under axle (2).
3. Raise floor jack enough to take weight of axle (2) off leaf spring (3).
4. Remove four self-locking nuts (4), washers (5), and two U-bolts (6) from leaf spring (3). Discard
self-locking nuts and U-bolts.
5. Remove plate (7) from leaf spring (3).
6. Remove lower spring mount (8) from axle (2).
7. Lower axle (2) until there is a gap between axle and leaf spring (3).
