INSTALLATION - Continued
16. Place floor jack under axle (2).
17. Raise axle (2) until leaf spring (3) is in mounting position.
18. Install plate (7) on leaf spring (3).
19. Position two U-bolts (6) on leaf spring (3) and upper and lower spring plates (8 and 19) with four
washers (5) and nuts (4).
20. Tighten self-locking nuts (4) on U-bolts (6) to 390-510 lb-ft (530-690 Nm), in sequence increments
of 50 lb-ft (68 Nm) in pattern shown.
