f. Intervals (on-condition or hard time) and the related man-hour times are based on normal operation. The man-
hour time specified is the time you need to do all services prescribed for a particular interval. Decrease the
intervals if your lubricants are contaminated or if you are operating equipment under adverse conditions, including
longer than usual operating hours. The intervals may be extended during periods of low activity. If extended,
adequate preservation precautions must be taken.
WARNING
Drycleaning solvent P-D680 is toxic and flammable. Always wear protective goggles and gloves,
and use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes, and DO NOT
breathe vapors. DO NOT use near open flames or excessive heat.
Clean all fittings and areas around lubrication points with drycleaning solvent (Item 3, Appendix D) or the equivalent before
lubricating equipment. After lubrication, wipe off excess oil or grease with clean rags (Item 11, Appendix D) to prevent
accumulation of foreign matter.
