EXCEPT IN CASE OF AUTOMATIC VALVE MALFUNCTION,
HYDRAULIC FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR SIGHT GAGE.
RELIEF OF HIGH PRESSURE IS AUTOMATIC ON LATER
LEVEL MUST BE BETWEEN "REFILL" AND "1 QUART"
VEHICLES. ON EARLY VEHICLES (OR IN CASE OF VALVE
CROSS LINES. ADD OR DRAIN FLUID AS REQUIRED.
MALFUNCTION) OPEN BLEED VALVE SLIGHTLY UNTIL
INDICATOR ROD MOVES INTO OPERATING RANGE, THEN
CLOSE VALVE.

CHECKING HYDRAULIC PRESSURE
RECHECK RESERVOIR FLUID LEVEL, AS PREVIOUS
WITH GUN/LAUNCHER ELEVATED TO 265 MILS, CHECK
CHECK MAY NOT BE ACCURATE IF PRESSURE WAS
POSITION OF INDICATOR ROD (SEE INSET). ROD MUST
LOW.
BE IN "OPERATING RANGE" TO RETURN GUN TO
CAUTION: IF RECOIL MECHANISM HAS BEEN
BATTERY.
DISASSEMBLED, OR IF GUN MOUNT HAS NOT
WARNING: DO NOT FIRE IF LOW FLUID
BEEN EXERCISED RECENTLY, BELLEVILLE
GROOVE PROTRUDES BEYOND END OF
WASHERS IN RECOIL MECHANISM MAY NOT
HAVE ATTAINED PROPER "SET", AND ROD MAY
INTO BUSHING.
INCREASE OR DECREASE
NOT RETURN TO OPERATING RANGE AFTER
PRESSURE TO BRING ROD INTO OPERATING
FIRING. CHECK ROD BETWEEN ROUNDS, USING
RANGE.
HAND PUMP AS REQUIRED TO MOVE ROD INTO
OPERATING RANGE FOR THE FIRST SEVERAL
ROUNDS FIRED.
