4.22 EVAPORATOR DUCT/PANEL. This task covers removal, inspection, repair/replace and installation.
INITIAL SETUP
Tools:
Tool kit, service, refrigeration unit (Item 1, Appendix B)
Personnel: 1
Materials:
Bulk gasket material (see RPSTL)
Bulk foam material (see RPSTL)
Equipment Condition
Disconnect input power to the air conditioner before performing any internal
maintenance Voltages used can KILL. Shutting the unit off at the control panel does not
disconnect unit power.
Disconnect air conditioner input power at source
REMOVAL
a. Remove six screws (3), lockwashers (2), and flat washers (1) (see fig. 4-13).
b. Remove panel (4)
INSPECTION
a. Check that panel is not bent, cracked or punctured.

Check that gaskets (9) and (10), and foam (6) are not torn, loose or missing.

Check that screen (7) is not damaged
d
Check that rivets (5) and (9) are not damaged or missing.
