SECTION I
INTRODUCTION
1.
General. a. This bulletin for Barge, Deck or Liquid Cargo, Design 23IB, is intended as an aid in
identification, procurement, requisitioning, assembly, storage, and issue of operating equipment, operating
supplies, on board repair parts, and accessory items aboard the vessel.
b.
The Boat Set will be issued initially complete by TROSCOM.
c.
Requisitions for replacement of component items will be submitted to the managing activity having
issue responsibility.
d.
When watercraft is transferred or returned inactive status, the boat set will be complete and turned
in with the vessel.1

Format of Technical Bulletin. This bulletin is divided into the following:
a.
Section II - Operating Equipment.
This section lists equipment necessary for the operation of
the
vessel exclusive of accessory equipment.
