The procedure for carrying out AOAP oil sampling is:
Avoid contact with hot oil. Failure to comply may result in serious injury.
(1)
The sample must be taken while the oil is hot, as soon as possible after shutdown.
(2)
Clean all dirt from around AOAP sampling valve (1).
(3)
Remove valve cap (2).
(4)
Hold clean sample bottle (3) under sampling valve (1).
(5)
Open sampling valve (1) and drain approximately 1 pint of oil. Fill sample bottle (3) to within 0.5 in. (13 mm)
from top. Cap bottle immediately.
(6)
Install valve cap (2).
