OPERATION UNDER USUAL CONDITIONS
Section II.
4-5. SCOPE. This section describes general operating procedures which are the
same for all trucks. Operating procedures that apply only to some models will follow
under separate paragraph headings. Each frame gives step-by-step instructions
and detailed illustrations to cover all operating controls and show how these controls
are set for each function.
4-6. GENERAL OPERATING PROCEDURES.
WARNING
This vehicle has been designed to operate safe-
ly and efficiently within the limits specified in
this TM. Operation beyond these limits is
prohibited IAW AR 70-1 without written ap-
proval from the Commander, U.S. Army Tank-
Automotive Command, ATTN: AMSTA-CM-S,
Warren, MI 48397-5000.
NOTE
Before engine start up, be sure that you know where
all controls and indicators are, what the purpose of
each one is and what it does. Refer to Section 1.
Make sure that all preventive maintenance checks and
services (PMCS) were done. Refer to PMCS, volume
2, chapter 1. Lock up truck whenever you leave it.
