INSPECTION
1.
Inspect stud holes for cracks. Discard brakedrum if cracks are present.
WARNING
DO NOT use a brakedrum that exceeds maximum wear specifications. Failure to follow this
warning may result in brake failure and serious injury or death to personnel.
2.
Inspect braking surface for cracks, heat checking, and scoring. Reface braking surface if damaged (subpara b).
3.
Inspect braking surface for out-of-round condition at 450 intervals. If out-of-round exceeds 0.015 in. (0.381 mm),
reface braking surface (subpara b).
