S e c t i o n I. INTORDUCTION
C-1. Scope.
This appendix lists components of end item and basic issue items for the
semitrailer to help you inventory items required for safe and efficient operation.
C - 2 . General.
The Components of End Item and Basic Issue Items Lists are divided into the
following sections:
a . S e c t i o n I I . Components of End Item. T h i s l i s t i n g i s f o r i n f o r m a t i o n
p u r p o s e s o n l y , a n d i s n o t a u t h o r i t y t o r e q u i s i t i o n r e p l a c e m e n t s . T h e s e items are
p a r t of the end item, but are removed and separately packaged for transportation or
s h i p m e n t . A s part of the end item, t h e s e items must be with the end item whenever
it is issued or transferred between property accounts.
Illustrations are furnished
to assist you in identifying the items.
b.
S e c t i o n I I I . B a s i c I s s u e I t e m s . T h e s e are the minimum essential items
required to place the semitrailers in operation, to operate it, and to perform
e m e r g e n c y r e p a i r s . A l t h o u g h shipped separately packaged, BII must be with the
semitrailers during operation and whenever it is transferred between property
accounts.
The illustrations will assist you with hard to identify items. This
m a n u a l is your authority to request/requisition replacement BII, based on TOE/MTOE
authorization of the end item.
C - 3 . Explanation of Columns.
The following provides an explanation of columns found in the tabular listings.
a. Column (1) Illustration Number (Illus Number). This column indicates the
number of the illustration on which the item is shown.
b . C o l u m n (2) National Stock Number.
I n d i c a t e s the National Stock Number
assigned to the item and will be used for requisitioning purposes.

The last line for each item
i n d i c a t e s t h e F S C M ( i n p a r e n t h e s e s ) f o l l o w e d b y t h e p a r t n u m b e r . The "Usable On
Code" heading is not applicable for this manual.

C o l u m n (4) Unit of Measure (U/M).
I n d i c a t e s the measure used in performing
t h e a c t u a l o p e r a t i o n a l / m a i n t e n a n c e f u n c t i o n . T h i s measure is expressed by a two-
character alphabetical abbreviation (e.g., ea, in, pr).
e. Column (5) Quantity required (qty rqr).
Indicates the quantity of the item
a u t h o r i z e d to be used with/on the equipment.
