Check fan belt (25) for wear and deterioration
Adjust or replace as necessary (para. 4-111).

KINGPIN
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent (P-D-680, Type III) is used
to clean parts and is potentially dangerous to
personnel and property. Extinguish all smoking
materials and do not allow sparks or open flame
near the work area. Use skin and eye protection
and work in a well-ventilated area. Flash point
of dry cleaning solvent is 200F (93C).
NOTE
Original dimension of the kingpin groove is 3.5
inches (8.9 cm).
Clean kingpin (26) wear surfaces using rags and dry
cleaning solvent (item 26, appx. E), and inspect
condition of kingpin (26). Notify DS maintenance
that kingpin (26) must be replaced if any of the
following conditions exist:
a. Uneven wear on one or more sides of kingpin wear
surface resulting in wear of 1/8 inch (3.2 mm)
over 1/4 of circumference of kingpin.
