NOTE
The black or brown color in the exhaust is from tiny, solid particles of pure carbon. A darker exhaust indicates a
higher carbon content. The exhaust color may vary from a light gray haze to a brown or black, which indicates
varying stages of incomplete combustion. Since combustion is never absolutely complete, the exhaust gases will
never be invisible, but an increase (thicker and/or darker) exhaust smoke may indicate trouble, especially if there
is no visible change in engine condition.
