OPERATION IN MUD
WARNING
Operating in mud causes brake linings to get covered with mud and can impair
trailer braking. Dry brakes by towing trailer about 500 ft (153 m) while
applying service brakes often. If adequate braking is not restored by drying
brakes, notify Field Level Maintenance. Failure to comply may result in injury to
personnel or damage to equipment.
CAUTION
Do not push trailer from rear if it becomes stuck in mud. Damage to trailer could result.
1.
If one or more wheels is stuck in mud, it may necessary to jack up stuck wheel(s) and insert
planking or matting under wheel(s).
2.
Frequently clean (WP 0046 00, Cleaning Trailer), inspect, and lubricate trailer after operation in mud
or as soon as tactical operation permits.
