SERVICE UPON RECEIPT OF MATERIEL
Unpacking
1.
Read "Processing and Deprocessing Record of Shipping, Storage and Issue of Vehicles and Spare
Engines" tag, (DD Form 1397) and follow all precautions checked. This tag should be attached to a
visible location on the tongue assembly.
2. Remove any metal strapping, plywood, tape, seals, wrapping paper, or any other shipping and
protective items from the trailer.
Checking Unpacked Equipment
1.
Inspect the equipment for damaged incurred during shipment. If the equipment has been damaged,
report the damage on SF 361, Transportation Discrepancy Report.
2.
Check the equipment against the packing slip to see if the shipment is complete. Report all
discrepancies in accordance with applicable service instructions (e.g., for Army instructions, see DA
PAM 738-750).
3.
Check to see whether the equipment has been modified.
4.
Inventory the trailer equipment. For detailed procedures, refer to WP 0174 00, (COEI), and WP 0175
00, (AAL).
