Remove breech boresignt assembly and muzzle boresight.

Turn FIRE CONTROL selector to OFF position. Lamps will go out.

Turn RETICLE LIGHT INTENSITY knob fully counterclockwise and
position filter selector to DARK (XM44) or OFF (XM44E Series).
Leave selector in this position when periscope is not in use.

Turn periscope ON/OFF switch to OFF position.
CAUTION: Insure that boresight aid (10516830) is removed.
Failure to comply could cause damage to the wiper assembly.
CAUTION: Make certain that periscope ON/OFF switch is in
OFF position to prevent draining periscope battery.

Close periscope ballistic cover.

Turn MASTER SWITCH off.
