a. Inspect for damage. Look for loose, frayed,

b. Visually check for excessive drying of insulation or
shrinkage.

b. Soften the remaining insulation and adhesive with
acetone or MEK (methyl-ethyl ketone).
c. Repeat the softening and scraping process as
required.
d. Clean up metal surface with cloth moistened in
acetone or MEK.

a. Repair loose or torn insulation with adhesive.

b. Replace frayed, drying, cracked or missing insula-
tion.
c. Cut a sheet of the proper insulating material to
correct shape.
