Step 4. Check for incorrect or contaminated fuel in fuel tank. (If contaminated, fuel will have a milky-white
coloring. During cold weather operation, the temperature at which wax crystals begin to form in diesel
fuel should be 10 degrees F below the lowest expected outside temperature.)
a. If fuel is incorrect or contaminated, notify organizational maintenance (fuel tank draining and fuel
system cleaning is required).
b. If fuel is okay, go to step 5.
Step 5. Check if ether switch is used when temperature is less than 40 degrees F.
