ALL 24-VOLT LAMPS FAIL TO LIGHT.
Step 1.
Check intervehicular cable receptacle for good ground connection.
Step 2.
Check wiring harness for short circuit.
Check cable for bare spots. Repair if necessary.
Step 3.
Check to see that current is flowing from towing vehicle.
Check towing vehicle cables and circuit breakers. Refer to towing vehicle technical manual.
Perform 24-volt voltage test of all circuits with a multimeter. Refer to wiring diagrams (para 4-52).
Step 4.

ONE OR MORE 24-VOLT LAMPS (BUT NOT ALL) FAIL TO LIGHT.
Check for burned out lamp.
Step 1.
Check for dirty or corroded cable contacts in sleeves or lamp sockets.
Step 2.
Remove lamps and clean contacts.
Check for broken or loose connections.
Step 3.
Tighten, repair, or replace as necessary.
Check to see if light assembly is defective.
Step 4.
DIM OR FLICKERING 24-VOLT LAMPS.

Step 1.
Check to see if lamp is defective.
Step 2.
Check for dirty or corroded lamp sockets, cable connectors, or harness contacts.
Clean as necessary.
Check for poor or loose ground connections.
Step 3.
Clean ground cable terminal and tighten connections.
Check for loose, dirty, or corroded terminals.
Step 4.
Clean and tighten terminals.
