GENERAL INSPECTION AND SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS (Contd)
WARNING
Skysol 100 mixture is combustible; DO NOT use or store
near heat, sparks, flame, or other ignition sources. Use
mechanical ventilation whenever product is used in a
confined space, heated above ambient temperatures, or
agitated. Keep container sealed when not in use.
Contact with Skysol 100 may cause skin irritation. Use
chemical-resistant gloves. In case of skin contact, remove
any contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly
with soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing before
reuse. Eye contact may cause irritation, tearing, or
blurring of vision. Use face shield or goggles when eye
contact may occur. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with
large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes or until
irritation subsides. Inhalation may cause irritation to
upper respiratory passages. DO NOT have food or drink
in the vicinity. Failure to comply may result in injury to
personnel.
NOTE
When a BEB is delivered to the using organization, the
following steps must be completed.
1. Use Skysol 100 to clean all exterior surfaces coated with corrosion preventive
compound.
2. Read Processing and Deprocessing Record of Shipping, Storage, and Issue of
BEBs and Spare Engines tag (DD Form 1397), and follow all precautions listed.
This tag should be attached to steering wheel or battery master switch.
SPECIFIC INSPECTION AND SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Perform before, during, and after PMCS listed in WP 0046 00.
NOTE
Do not change gear cases or engine oil unless processing
tag states that oil is unsuitable for more than 50 hours of
operation. If oil is suitable, check oil level WP 0049 00.
3. Schedule semiannual service on DD Form 314 (Preventive Maintenance
Schedule and Record Card) or DA form 5986-E (Preventive Maintenance
Schedule and Record) if using Unit Level Logistic System (ULLS).
4. Check BEB coolant level and determine if solution is proper for climate.
