b. Rear Disconnect
NOTE
This is a two-soldier task.
(1)
Set transmission range selector (1 or 1.1) to N (neutral).
(2)
Pull out PARKING BRAKE control (2).
(3)
Pull out TRAILER AIR SUPPLY control (3).
WARNING
Keep out from under disabled vehicle and retrieval
system when raised. Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
After lowering disabled vehicle, extend lift and tow
cylinders approximately 2 to 4 in (50 to 100 mm) to
allow for adjustment when removing adapters.

Prepare retrieval system for operation (para 2-72) and pull LIFT
CYLINDER control lever to extend lift cylinder and lower disabled
vehicle to ground until safety chains at front axle are slack.
WARNING
If disabled vehicle's air system is inoperative, chock
wheels of disabled vehicle. Failure to comply may
result in serious injury or death to personnel.
(5)
Apply PARKING BRAKE on disabled vehicle (TM 9-2320-360-10). If
parking brake is inoperative, chock wheels on disabled vehicle.
