3. Slowly back tractor (11) into position. Ensure that kingpin (7) is alined with fifth wheel jaws (13) and that fifth
wheel jaws are open.
4. Before fifth wheel approach ramps (16) make contact with kingpin plate (15), perform the following:
a.
Check that kingpin plate (15) is above approach ramps (16).
Adjust kingpin (7) height as needed by raising or lowing landing gear (14). Refer to RAISING LANDING
b.
GEAR in this paragraph or to paragraph 2-7.
5. Slowly back tractor (11) until fifth wheel jaws (13) engage kingpin (7).
