operation; check for a drum and wheel hub that is hotter
or cooler than the others. An overheated drum and
wheel hub indicates an improperly adjusted or defective
service brake, or dry wheel bearing. An abnormally cool
condition indicates an inoperative brake. Report any
abnormal conditions to Unit maintenance.

KINGPIN
Check the kingpin (6) for any cracks and gouges.
A crack of any size is noted
anywhere on the kingpin or
associated welds.
A nick, chip, or gouge deeper
than 1/8 in. (3.18 mm) is noted
anywhere on the wear surface
of the kingpin.
