HANDBRAKE CABLE ADJUSTMENT - CONTINUED

Turnbuckle (9)
5. Connecting rod
a. Turn turnbuckle (9) counterclockwise
(11) and handbrake
(when viewed from rear of trailer)
cable (12)
until brakeshoes drag slightly when
wheel (3) and brakedrum are rotated
by hand.
Hold cable (12) with adjustable
wrench to prevent twisting.
b. Back off (turn clockwise when viewed
from rear of trailer) turnbuckle (9)
until the wheel and drum turn freely
without drag.
Two jamnuts (10)
6. Turnbuckle (9)
Using two 9/16-inch wrenches (one on jam-
nut and one on turnbuckle), tighten.
Handbrake lever (5)
7. Trailer frame,
Test adjustment by moving handbrake lever
front (4)
(5) to lock position, If handbrake lever
(5) cannot be moved to the fully locked
position, turn handbrake lever knob (6)
counterclockwise until correct lever
position is obtained.
Jack (2)
8. Front wheel axle (1)
Lower and remove.
