APU - CONT
Step 6.
Check for odor of fuel or oil mixed in engine coolant.
Drain engine coolant (para. 4-110) and inspect for fuel and oil
contamination in engine coolant. If contaminates are found,
replace APU (para. 4-96).
Step 7.
Remove radiator and check engine water jacket for corrosion.
a. Flush and clean engine water jacket (para. 4-110).
b. If above steps do not correct malfunction, replace APU

BATTERY WILL NOT HOLD CHARGE
Step 1.
Check electrolyte level and specific gravity in each cell.
a. Replenish battery cells to proper level with distilled
water and recharge as required (para. 4-10, item 5).
b. Check battery electrolyte for improper specific gravity
with hydrometer (item 17, appx. B). Charge or replace
battery (para. 4-30).
Step 2.
Check for fan belt slippage (excessive wear or noisy operation).
Adjust belt tension or replace belt (para. 4-111).
Step 3.
Check for noisy or vibrating fan dynamo.
Remove and replace fan dynamo (para. 4-112).
Step 4.
Check APU harness for breaks, corrosion, and burns on harness.
Remove and repair or replace APU wiring harness (para. 4-39).
