14. 165-MM GUN DOES NOT ELEVATE OR DEPRESS SMOOTHLY IN POWER OR
DOES NOT OPERATE IN POWER
WARNING
q Do not reach over or under gun mount unless
ELEV/TRAV POWER switch is OFF.
Accidental movement of gun may cause injury.
q Do not apply turret power or operate turret
c o n t r o l s until all personnel are in safe
p o s i t i o n s and prepared for turret or gun
movement.
q Do not operate turret in power or manual
mode until all personnel are in proper position,
turret ring has been cleared, and shell ejection
plate and all platform guards are in place.
q Do not reach into or attempt to enter or exit
d r i v e r ' s compartment until turret power
switch is off and turret traverse lock is in
locked position.
q Crew members out of station are in extreme
danger when turret power is on. Commanders
must shut down turret power before allowing
crew members to leave their stations.
Step 1. Check area over and under the breech and gun mount for objects
blocking gun movement.
If objects are found, remove them.
