WIRE HARNESS. This task covers inspection, and repair.
INITIAL SETUP

Materials.
Equipment Conditions:
Disconnect input power to the air conditioner before performing any internal
maintenance. Voltages used can KILL. Shutting the unit off at the control panel does
not disconnect unit power.

INSPECTION
Check wiring, terminals and connections for corrosion, frayed or broken wires, and signs of overheating. Replace wiring
or connections as necessary.
TESTING
Using wiring diagram (see fig FO-2.), check continuity on suspected bad wiring
REPAIR
a. General. Preferred repair methods consist of replacing wires, terminals, connectors, etc., rather than splicing
wires, bending ends to form terminals, and other makeshift procedures although the latter may be appropriate for
emergency field repairs. Determine the proper size and length of wire or terminal or connector to be used for
replacement.
