CHASSIS WIRING HARNESS REPLACEMENT (M514).

a.
REMOVAL
1.
Remove four screws (6), lockwashers (5), and cover (4). Discard lockwashers.
NOTE
Tag wires before disconnecting.
2.
Disconnect chassis wiring harness (13) from intervehicular cable (3).
3.
Disconnect chassis wiring harness (13) from lights (11).
4.
Remove six screws (9), lockwashers (7), and clamps (8) from chassis wiring harness (13), trailer frame, and
crossmember. Discard lockwashers.
5.
Starting at one end, remove grommets (10) and carefully pull chassis wiring harness (13) through holes in
crossmember. Remove chassis wiring harness from trailer.
6.
Inspect three clip assemblies (2) for damage and corrosion. If clip assembly is damaged or corrosion cannot be
removed, remove two screws (12), lockwashers (1), and clip assembly. Discard lockwashers.
7.
Inspect grommets (10) for damage. Replace all damaged grommets.
b.
INSTALLATION
1.
If removed, install clip assemblies (2) with two new lockwashers (1) and screws (12).
2.
Starting at one end, carefully thread chassis wiring harness (13) through holes in crossmembers and install
grommets (10).
3.
Install six clamps (8) on chassis wiring harness (13), trailer frame, and crossmember with six new lockwashers (7)
and screws (9).
4.
Connect chassis wiring harness (13) to lights (11).
5.
Connect chassis wiring harness (13) to intervehicular cable (3).
6.
Install cover (4) with four new lockwashers (5) and screws (6).
