JACKING PROCEDURE
a.
Set chock blocks opposite the tire(s) being removed.
b.
Remove jack from towing vehicle.
c . Position jack under axle closest to where tire(s) will be removed
d.
Loosen, but do not remove ten lug nuts (1).
Jack up the axle until tires (2 and 3) are clear of the ground.

Remove ten lug nuts (1) and tire (2).
NOTE
If only the outer tire is being changed, disregard step g .
Remove
ten
lugs
(4)
and
tire
(3).
g.
CAUTION
The valve stem must be in the groove o f the drum to
p r e v e n t damage.
h.
Install new tire (see spare tire carrier para. 2-27).
Tighten lug nuts.
If inner tire was changed, install outer wheel (2) and ten lugs (1).
i.
The
v a l v e stem must be 180 degrees from the valve stem of the inner wheel.
Lower
and
remove
jack.
j.
Be certain lug nuts are tightened.
k.
R e m o v e chock blocks and stow in brackets.
Notify Organizational Maintenance to torque lug nuts.
