Access
(1) Using alien wrench, loosen Temperature control thermostat knob setscrew.
(2) Remove knob.
(3) Using screwdriver and wrench, remove four screws and nuts that secure rear panel.
(4) Pull rear panel away from box as far as harness will allow,
b. Inspection/Test
(1) Check connector for general condition and loose, broken, or missing contacts. Replace connector if
damaged.
(2) Check individual wires for loose solder connections, terminal lug connections, cut or frayed insulation, and
cut or broken wires.
(3) See wiring diagram (Figure 4-20) and continuity test individual wires. Repair or replace wires with no conti-
nuity,

Removal
(1) Using screwdriver and wrench, remove four screws and nuts from J8 connector.
(2) Using screwdriver and wrench, remove lock nut, lock washer, and flat washer from ground stud.
