a. Inspection-blast damper. (See fig. 5-35 for identification of parts.)
(1) Check that filter is clean and in place. Clean if dirty. Replace if damaged or missing.
(2) Check that screen is clean and free of all blockages.
(3) Check that damper is in open position. Handle on reset arm indicates the damper position. When
the damper is closed, the handle is pointing down. When it is open, it is turned out away from the unit about
45x.
(4) Check that all gaskets are in place, seal properly, and are in good condition.
(5) Check that fabric panel located between the actuator hood and the actuator housing is in place
and in good condition.
When installations using blast dampers have more than one air conditioner, fresh air covers must be installed
on units not equipped with blast dampers.
b. Inspection - fresh air cover.
(1) Check that cover is in place and secure.
(2) Check that cover is not dented, cracked, or punctured.
(3) Check that gasket is not torn, loose, or missing.
