Release air filter retainer spring clips and remove air filter.

Check filter for punctures, cuts, and damaged edges that would allow passage of unfiltered
air.

Check filter for packed or mashed areas that would block air flow.

Replace air filter if found bad.

Check air filter for accumulated dirt.

Wash filter in a mild detergent and water solution.

Rinse thoroughly in clear water.

Shake out excess water prior to installation.

Slip air filter into place. (Be sure that air flow arrow is pointing up.)

Secure filter with filter retainer spring clips.

Check that actuator hood screen is in place and in good condition.

Check that screen is clean and free of all blockages.

If dirty clean with a stiff brush.
14
Check that circular swing type cover on actuator hood is closed.

Check that damper door reset lever is in open position.

No other preparation is necessary if the air conditioner is to be installed by the typical exterior wall
opening method and operated as a self-contained unit.
