1 . Test across each connection and cable at points shown
lead alligator clip
3 . Vehicle ignition switch OFF, gear shift in neutral,
and parking brake set
4. Press prods hard at each bare metal point for good
contact
5. Have helper crank engine with starter switch
6 . While engine is cranking, see if voltmeter
needle
moves. If not . . .
Switch
to 10 volts. Still no movement . . .
Switch
to 1 volt
7 . If reading is more than 0.1 volt, it's a bad cable
or connection
8. Clean bad connections, reassemble and tighten, or re-
place the bad cable. Test again
