MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
c. General Support (G/S) Maintenance (Fourth Echelon). G/S maintenance shall perform the following preventive
maintenance services on the DMS test units and associated equipment.
Section I. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
(1) Perform those services listed in paragraph 5-lb on the DMS-D test set and associated equipment.
5-1. General.
(2) Perform a visual inspection of the DMS-G daily as per table 2-2. Any discrepancies noted will be corrected
as necessary, utilizing instructions contained in chapter 5, section II.
This section describes maintenance services necessary to maintain the DMS in an operational status.
Such
maintenance shall be performed at regular or unscheduled intervals at the maintenance level indicated.
(3) Perform the DMS-G self test procedure (refer to TM-07462A-40) daily if the test kit is to be used for any
checks.
a. Operator and Organizational Maintenance (First and Second Echelon). Since the DMS is only available at the D/S
(Third Echelon), and G/S (Fourth Echelon) maintenance levels, all operator and organizational maintenance will be covered
(4) Perform the Dt4S-G maintenance calibration procedures (refer to TM-07462A40) at 60-day intervals or as
under D/S or G/S procedures.
required after corrective action has been performed.
b. Direct Support (D/S) Maintenance (Third Echelon). D/S maintenance shall perform the following preventive

Cover the wire and connector pin with appropriate heat shrink insulation sleeving.
(6) The DMM, CT, and radiometer will be calibrated at 90-day intervals or as required after corrective
maintenance has been performed. These items will be calibrated by a calibration laboratory.
b. Plug-on insulated alligator clips may be requisitioned and stored in the DMS-D for use with the 1W14 cable and
other standard test leads to prevent shorts
(7) Maintenance calibration will be performed on the TTS at 90-day intervals
