Check level of brake fluid in master cylinder.
Service master cylinder (Chapter 3, Section l).
Check for clogged air filter elements.
Step 2.
Clean or replace air filter elements (para 4-37).
Check for leaks in hydraulic brake system.
Step 3.
Repair leaks (para 4-34 or 4-36).
Check for air in hydraulic brake system.
Step 4.
Bleed brakes (para 4-31).
Check for grease on brakeshoe linings (para 4-29).
Step 5.
Replace brakeshoes (para 4-29).
Replace wheel oil seal as required (para 4-44).
Check for worn brakeshoe linings (para 4-29).
Step 6.
Adjust service brakes (para 4-30) or replace brakeshoes (para 4-29), as required.
Check for scored brakedrum.
Step 7.
Replace brakedrum (para 4-44).
