Disconnect air conditioner power sup-
ply before doing maintenance work on
the electrical system.
Disconnect the compressor electrical connector See wiring diagram,
Test
plug (P10) (15).
A and B, B and C, and C and A of the compressor
electrical receptacle (15). Continuity should exist.
If not, replace compressor.
Check for continuity between pins A, B and C and
the compressor housing. No continuity should ex-
ist. if continuity exists, replace compressor.
Check for continuity between pins D and E. Conti-
nuity should exist. If the high temperature thermo-
stat is open, let the compressor cool, then recheck
for continuity. If continuity does not exist after al-
lowing the compressor to cool, replace compres-
sor.
If compressor windings are bad, check for com-
pressor burn-out prior to installing new compres-
sor.
