DMS-G Corrective Maintenance Procedures
(preceding) are discussed here.
a.
Repair/Replacement of Tape, Cam Retainer. Repair or replacement of the tape retaining the cam on the CSCB
mounting fixture is accomplished using bulk tape MILF21840, TY1, and bonding as follows:
(1)
Sand the metal area on the side of the cam assembly where the tape is to be installed lightly with #120 grit
sandpaper.
(2)
Clean metal surface with cleaning cloth saturated with MEK, and allow to air dry.
(3)
Apply adhesive MIS 18636 and bond surfaces together.
(4)
Allow to dry prior to use.
b.
Repair of CSCB Cam Assembly Cable.
If the cable connecting the CSCB cam assembly connector P1 to the internal DMS-G wiring is repaired or replaced, repot
the internal side of the panel feed through area with MPD 9148 (four parts base to one part hardener). The cable shields are
exposed in this feed through, and MPD 9148 is a "conductive" material to insure electrical grounding.
5-7.
The repair procedure for all DMS cable assemblies is similar; therefore, this paragraph will cover only cable assembly
2W1 (typical).
a.
Refer to table 5-2 for special tools required for cable repair.
b.
Any cable repairs under the nipple (2) requires cutting off the nipple, as it is form fitted. The replacement of the
entire connector (1) (either male or female) is NOT mandatory if a pin is to be replaced, as the new nipple (2) will slide over
the connector prior to shrinking.
